These displays leverage state-of-the-art technologies, including P-OLED, Advanced Thin OLED (ATO), and LTPS (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Silicon) LCD. The ultra-high-resolution P-OLED offers a flexible plastic substrate, ensuring a lightweight and flexible panel. ATO, utilizing glass substrates, provides the strength of automotive OLED at a competitive price point. Additionally, LTPS LCD delivers high performance, enabling larger and higher-resolution displays compared to existing LCDs.
Safety Enhancement with Switchable Privacy Mode (SPM)
LG Display is committed to enhancing safety in SDVs with its revolutionary ‘Switchable Privacy Mode (SPM).’ This innovative solution automatically adjusts the display’s viewing angle away from the driver’s line of sight, redirecting content on the front passenger’s side to ensure the driver remains focused on the road. This feature marks a significant step forward in minimizing potential distractions and ensuring a secure driving environment.
Future-Forward Driving Experiences
The company is set to introduce solutions that not only offer new driving experiences but also maximize space efficiency within the confines of a vehicle. Slidable and Foldable OLEDs installed in the back of seats allow for hidden or extended usage, providing passengers with customizable screen real estate.
